Here’s the second single from The A-Bortz set at Til-Two Club on March 30, 2018 – “Grocery Store Harassment”. The whole show should be out in a few days. I did a lot more color grading on this video than in the past, and I think it really helps.
A-Bortz at Til-Two March 30, 2018
This past Friday, March 30, 2018, PunchCard had their CD release show, also featuring Making Incredible Time and The A-Bortz. It was a great night. PunchCard hired a food truck to provide hot dogs and nachos for free to everyone (this is on top of an already free show). Til-Two is a fun venue, with very friendly staff.
I shot video of all three bands and recorded audio using my Shure MV88 stereo mic. The sound guy also recorded multi-track audio for PunchCard, but I have not gotten it yet. Unfortunately, I made some mistake and the audio for M.I.T. did not record. Well, as they told me, I’ve already got plenty of live videos of them.
So, here’s a song from The A-Borts, “No Fucks To Give”. The full show should be out in a week or so, followed by PunchCard’s full show.

Black Adidas – “Old Fashioned Rock N Roll” – at The Bancroft Feb 10, 2018
Los Angeles based Black Adidas came down to Spring Valley, CA to play The Bancroft. Here they are playing “Old Fashioned Rock N Roll” from their new, self-titled album. It’s a really good song, and the album is great, as well. I highly recommend checking it out.

Kitty Plague – “Smoke Crack / Come On” – at The Bancroft Feb 10, 2018

Making Incredible Time – “King Jack Off” – @ The Bancroft
This past Saturday, I was at The Bancroft in Spring Valley, CA watching and shooting 4 great bands – Making Incredible Time, T.S. Leone, Kitty Plague, and Black Adidas. I shot several songs from each band, single camera, with my Shure MV88 stereo mic getting the audio. I’ll be releasing several videos from that night over the next week or two. Here’s the first one:
Roman Watchdogs – 4 songs – Live at The Pour House Jan 13, 2018
Here’s the final 4 songs of Roman Watchdogs’ set at their CD release party at The Pour House in Oceanside, CA on January 13, 2018. Camera is my Panasonic GH5, and audio is my new Shure MV88 stereo mic in the audience. Audio was mastered by Dan Bonn.
Making Incredible Time – “Burn & Turn” – The Pour House Oceanside, CA
So far, I’ve made two kinds of live videos. Full productions, with 3 cameras, audio recorded in multi-track from the soundboard, then mixed and mastered. That is time consuming and runs about 20 man hours for a 30-minute show, but the quality is great. The other way is quick and dirty, one camera with audio on the camera. The quality of that is, well, not great.
I’m trying a third way. One camera, but audio is a stereo mic in the audience. I bought a Shure MV88 stereo mic. It records to an iPhone via the Lightning connector in 24/48. I used it this past Saturday to record Roman Watchdogs and M.I.T. at The Pour House in Oceanside, CA.
I’m very happy with the result. I’m not sure what the venue’s sound guy was thinking with all the reverb, but the MV88 did it’s job very well.
