Loose Cannon – “Riot” – From Beach Punx Fest III

Here’s Loose Cannon from Beach Punx Fest III this past Sunday.

I shot 3-4 songs from each band, plus interviews with some of the bands and fans. “Beach Punx Fest III – The Movie” will be out in late August. In the meantime, I’ll be releasing one song from each band every few days.

t.s. Leone – “Lucy…” – live at Winstons April 28, 2018

It took me long enough.  Here’s a song from t.s. Leone‘s show at Winstons a few months ago.  Shot on a Panasonic GH5, a Panasonic G7, and a Zoom Q2n (Thanks Brian Wilder!).  Audio is a board feed mixed with an audience stereo mic (Motive MV88), mixed and mastered by the great Dan Donn.  The full show will be up later this week.

Broken Record

Halloween weekend, I shot Broken Record and PunchCard at WinstonsOB.  I got the audio tracks from soundguy Kyle, and handed them off to Dan Bonn so he could work his magic.

There was a technical difficulty (it happens when you do live recording) and the tracks for Broken Record only had the first song.  Bummer.

Anyway, Dan got me the final mix for Broken Record, so here’s the final video:

Midnight Track from Halloween at Winstons

I shot some footage of Midnight Track at Winstons on October 28, 2017.  When I got home I edited it a bit, and here it is:

Now, keep in mind, I had several drinks at Winstons while I was there, and a few more when I went to dinner afterward, so this may not be my best work ever.  🙂  The audio is on camera, and the whole thing was kinda spur of the moment, unplanned.

Enjoy.

Back Catalog

Here’s 4 live concert movies from before I got the GH5.  These were shot with what I had at the time.  The first two, from November 2016, were shot on a Canon HV20 (a 2007 era DV tape HD camcorder) and a 2008 Creative Vado that only does 720p.  There are some iPhone 5s shots from the side of the stage in there, as well.

The two from March 2017 were also shot with the Vado and the HV20, but the handheld shots were done with a new Canon Vixia HF R700 camcorder.  That’s a tiny little thing that costs less than $200, and it does a decent job for the price.

These were edited with HitFilm which I learned to use on the November shows.

Prior to this era, I shot and edited several shows in 2005-2009, using the HV20 and even older consumer camcorders.  Those I edited in FCP (Pre-X).  Maybe I’ll dig those out and post them someday.

Here are the older shows in chronological order:
